DREAM WORLD LYRICS
Lisa McDavid | Mark Paul Smith | Danny Jones

VERSE 1
Blue velvet sky soft as Sunday morning
Kissin’ Saturday night goodnight
One star still shines brighter than the dawning
Of a woman who’s seen the light
VERSE 2
I thought I had everything I needed
Until I started needing you
You wanted more than anyone could give you
When all I wanted was you
CHORUS
I’ve been livin’ in a dream world with you
Dream world with you
Now I understand my dream world with you
Could never come true
Could never come true
BRIDGE
Now there’s no need to pretend anymore
That’s for sure
I’m gonna make it on my own
VERSE 1
Blue velvet sky soft as Sunday morning
Kissin’ Saturday night goodnight
One star still shines brighter than the dawning
Of a woman who’s seen the light
CHORUS
I’m a woman who’s seen the light
I’m gonna make it on my own
I’ll build my own dream world without you
ABOUT THE SONG
Mark Paul Smith
“Dream World” is less about escape than it is about protection. It reflects those moments when life becomes overwhelming and the only way to process it is to turn inward. That internal space becomes a kind of defense mechanism—a place to sit with uncertainty until clarity arrives.
It speaks to a universal experience of feeling stuck but ultimately finding a way through. In shaping the song, there was a deliberate attention to phrasing and emotional flow.
We used subtle shifts in delivery—especially when revisiting certain lines—to create added depth and texture. The musical arrangement supports that sense of introspection, allowing the vocal to move naturally through the emotional arc rather than forcing it.
